Fundación Costa Palmas delivered more than 500 toys and gifts to children in Santiago and La Ribera for Christmas and Día de Reyes, tying up the season with a bow. This project was a joint effort between the National System for the Integral Development of the Family (DIF), its delegates and subdelegates as well as teachers and parents, with everyone coming together to make a difference in the lives of local children and families.
Children were asked to write letters to Santa Claus with their wishes, choosing among nine different types of toys. The letters were distributed among staff members of Costa Palmas, who were in charge of fulfilling the wishes and playing the role of Santa. Toys were donated by Fundación Costa Palmas’s collaborators, contractors, and friends.
There were many beautiful surprises along the way, with some Costa Palmas members even replying to the letters. The toys were delivered between Christmas and Día de Reyes. The children who benefited were from the areas of Santiago, Agua Caliente, Mamacitas, Buena Vista, Las Cuevas, Santa Cruz, Cabo Pulmo, La Capilla, and La Ribera.
“We reiterate our commitment and willingness to work together with the community, likewise, this achievement adds to the efforts of Costa Palmas for the development of the community, which have been maintained for more than a decade,” said Ruth Díaz Gurria, President of Fundación Costa Palmas. “To date, we have implemented numerous actions to promote care for the environment, education, well-being, and culture in the northern area of the municipality of Los Cabos.”
Thank you to everyone who participated. We look forward to continuing our impactful efforts next season!
