Togetherness, gratitude, and joy—it’s what the holiday season is all about. Fundación Costa Palmas spread the season’s sentiment across La Ribera, organizing tree-lighting festivities in conjunction with the local DIF (National System for Integral Family Development). Students, community members, neighbors, Americans, and Canadians all came together to celebrate.
It was a busy evening, with 800 in attendance, enjoying hot chocolate, buñuelos, and “cuernitos”. Fundación Costa Palmas made the event extra special by providing lights and acrobatics shows, which the children were enchanted by. Other performances followed—including some by local kids, ranging from Kindergarten to the Telebachillerato. They dance, sang, and truly made the night bright.
In attendance were the Mayor of Los Cabos, Prof. Oscar Leggs Castro, and his wife, Flora Aguilar de Leggs, President of DIF Los Cabos. They had the honor of counting down for the lighting. Additionally, Tom Ruebel, Director of Development and Construction, y Jorge Herrán, Director of Operations, attended the event on behalf of the Costa Palmas team. In their speech, they reiterated Costa Palmas' commitment to the La Ribera community and shared their appreciation for these invaluable community events.
