A Wonderful Evening For A Wonderful Cause

A Fundación Costa Palmas Fundraiser Dinner

Fundación Costa Palmas held its first fundraiser dinner on May 12th, a beautiful evening filled with community, drinks, and great food prepared by chef Gonzalo Cerda, Executive Chef of Costa Palmas. Golden hour filtered through the Nursery as guests perused the art auction - which included several by the renowned artist from La Paz, Carlos Diaz Castro -, while enjoying the lovely outdoors. 100% of the proceeds from the auction were donated to Fundación Costa Palmas for upcoming projects.

Since its commencement, Fundación Costa Palmas has been able to revive an abandoned high school, implement an environmental curriculum in local schools, rehabilitate and maintain medical facilities, and even revive a community park that was in disrepair, among countless other projects.

There to support the generous endeavors of the foundation that evening were many of the contractors and suppliers who work with Costa Palmas. Ruth Gurría, President of Fundación Costa Palmas, called attention to the importance of the night and thanked those in attendance specifically. “Thank you very much for all the employment that you generate, for the training that you provide to your workers,” she said, acknowledging the development possible through their various companies. She then invited everyone to continue learning and participating in the local community as they “continue learning about the needs of La Ribera and the rest of the delegations.”

People applauded after Gurría’s speech, under the faint twinkle of bistro lights. As the evening continued, guests congregated around tables, artfully set amidst the garden, savoring every moment.
